Jesse Nutter “Overlooked”
BFA 2017, Kent State University, Kent, OH, USA
Materials: Copper, enamel, rubber
“My goal is to give a new life and identity to the materials, creating something new and precious
from remains that were left behind. Enamel, hollow construction, photographic imagery, and
the work’s format as jewelry enhance the value and give new purpose to abandoned material. Through the careful assemblage and setting of each remnant in the jewelry’s handcrafted structure, I am permanently capturing the memory of environments that do not exist anymore.”
